Atlanta spent $ 2 Billion dollars to obtain just 21 acres to buy and condemn 68 parcels for a downtown Centennial Park. It would be foolish for North Carolina to miss the opportunity to create a park that is so well suited for the purpose.

The State has invested $27 million since 1992 to renovate 23 buildings. NC leases 2 million square feet of office space in Raleigh. Landlords make a profit and must pay taxes, all things being equal the State can reduce its office budget by using existing state-owned buildings for office space.
